About

I used to not believe in anything and these days I believe in everything. Mostly I believe that the source of all things is an infinite mystery and that everything, seen and unseen, is a manifestation of that mystery. I try to be optimistic, to look for the best in all people and all things, and to leave things a little better than I found them. And to laugh and have fun every day.

Wow! Clobridge, you nailed it. I am so excited and feel honored everyday to live in the same world as the Occupiers. Damn it, they are much younger than us (mostly), but I totally got it when Crosby and Nash were down there singing “Teach Your Children.” …”Feed them on your dreams, the one they pick’s the one you’ll know by.” Our dreams (articulated by MLK and Malcolm X and RFK and others, most of them dead by violence) are being acted on now. And how about those projections and the taking of the Brooklyn Bridge? Nowadays the words “Mike Check” give me chills.

Also, thanks for your thoughts on service. I too have worked for the Postal Service and find it honorable. Also other “service” I have done, both for its own sake and to support myself. And service provides a good living directly in response to workers’ support for the union(s). Thanks to you and to Dianna M. for sharing this via email.

  2. Jack Hirschfeld mentions Amy Goodman and Chris Hedges on Charlie Rose 10/24/11. Very interesting stuff! Here’s a link to the first of 2 videos of the show… (thanks, Jack- caw caw).
